At SNAP Family Center, we have been dedicated to supporting and strengthening families for 24 years. Our mission is to assist families with children aged 0 to 18 who are experiencing socio-emotional and behavioral challenges. We offer comprehensive individual and group support designed to help children manage their emotions and mitigate the effects of difficult behaviors. Our goal is to empower families, providing them with the tools and resources needed to navigate crises, achieve academic objectives, and foster positive development.
We pride ourselves on being a centre of excellence for the development and implementation of effective parent-child intervention programs. Our diverse offerings include specialized workshops and support groups tailored to various needs. For mothers, our drop-in group provides a welcoming space to share experiences and challenges, while our fathers’ drop-in group offers a similar opportunity for dads to connect, reflect, and celebrate their successes.
Our workshops for parents of children aged 0-5 focus on enhancing the parent-child relationship, setting realistic expectations, and improving communication strategies. For children aged 6 to 11, our flagship SNAP (Stop Now And Plan) program addresses behavioral issues, emotional management, and difficulties with authority. Over a 13-week period, children develop crucial social and emotional skills while parents acquire new strategies for managing their own emotions and parenting more effectively.
In addition to our direct support programs, we also offer school advocacy to ensure that our clients’ educational needs are met. At SNAP Family Center, we are committed to providing a nurturing environment where families can thrive and children can reach their full potential.
